Notice scope
Scope
This notice describes the storage mechanisms TruckZen uses inside the web application served from truckzen.pro and its mobile-friendly views. It supplements the TruckZen Privacy Policy.
Browser data
Storage we use
Essential session cookies. Required to keep you signed in and to render the correct shop and role context. These cookies are set by our authentication provider and application server. They cannot be disabled while you use the Service.
Browser local storage. The Service may write small, non-sensitive interface state into your browser's local storage to remember preferences and recent context, such as list filters, panel sizes, theme, and cookie notice acknowledgement.
Browser session storage. The Service may use browser session storage for transient values that should not persist beyond the current browser tab.
Terminal device-trust cookie. Where your shop administrator enrolls a workplace clock-in terminal, the Service sets a hashed device-trust cookie on that terminal so it can recognize the terminal on later clock-in events. The underlying terminal record is stored server-side and can be revoked by an administrator.
Approved-network context. Where your shop administrator configures approved networks, the Service may associate clock-in events with the approved-network identifier server-side. This is derived from the network address your browser connects from; it is not stored in your browser as a cookie or local-storage value.
Operational monitoring. TruckZen uses AWS operational logs and alarms to detect and investigate Service issues. This server-side monitoring is part of operating and securing the Service; it is not an optional browser cookie or local-storage category.
Advertising trackers. The Service does not use third-party advertising trackers or cross-site advertising cookies.
Controls
Preference categories
The in-app Cookie Preferences Center distinguishes required browser storage from optional interface preferences. This notice is a transparency tool, not a legal certification.
Necessary - always on. Authentication, session security, CSRF/security, terminal device-trust, legal acceptance, and essential Service operation.
Preferences - optional. Theme, UI state, saved local settings, list filters, and panel sizes.
Marketing - not used. TruckZen does not use marketing or advertising trackers.
User options
Choices and controls
You can manage cookies and storage through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies, session storage, or local storage will prevent the Service from working correctly.
Administrators can revoke terminal device-trust enrollment through workplace clock-in configuration. The revocation timestamp is recorded server-side and the terminal is no longer recognized.
To change your in-app Cookie Preferences Center selection, use the Cookie Settings button after you save a choice, or clear your browser storage to reset the choice.
Saved choice
Acknowledgment
The Cookie Preferences Center stores category choices in local storage under truckzen_cookie_preferences_v1 with version 2026-08-aws1. Earlier versions included a diagnostics choice for a removed runtime and are no longer accepted. Your acknowledgement is per-browser and non-blocking.
